COVID-19: Where do I find information on the impact of the coronavirus?
DISCOVEREU INTERRAIL PASS UPDATE
Refund conditions for Interrail passes do not apply to DiscoverEU Passes. Information regarding the exchanging of a DiscoverEU ticket are addresses below. Questions should be sent to 👉 email@example.com.
Due to the current situation with COVID-19 (coronavirus), we know you might have a lot of questions. Given the rapidly changing nature of the situation, we are not always able to answer questions with detailed information. Thank you for your patience while we work on delivering a solution to bring you your DiscoverEU experience.
We want to also remind you to respect your government’s guidelines and travel advice. Together, let’s protect our friends, families and the wider community by helping to control the spread of the virus.
APRIL & MAY DEPARTURES - TRAVEL TICKET EXCHANGES (updated 30 March)
Do not depart on your #DiscoverEU trips in April and May, as all non-essential travel to and in Europe is to be avoided. Those with a travel ticket with a departure in April and May, will be able to exchange their pass. Due to the unknown timeline of the safety measures put in place, our travel team will contact you to exchange your pass.
For DiscoverEU Interrail Passes, it's important that you hold on to your printed Interrail Pass while you wait for instructions on how to exchange your pass. You'll need to cancel your current pass before your departure date, and you will be asked to decide on your new departure date at a later stage (currently scheduled end May).
OUTERMOST REGIONS (updated 19 March)
A temporary restriction to all non-essential travel to the EU has been put in place for an initial period of 30 days (until 17 April). The travel information mentioned above is the same for the Outermost Regions. Questions 👉 firstname.lastname@example.org.
UPDATE BOOKING DEADLINE
We understand that due to school closures and quarantine measures taken throughout the EU, planning the dates of a #DiscoverEU trip is difficult. At this stage, a lot of students might not know exactly when school will end or start again. In order to allow DiscoverEU travelers to receive further information from school, we are extending the booking deadline until 30 April 2020.
We will continue to evaluate and communicate as the situation develops.
Regarding travel advice from countries, we advise you to carefully check the following:
- The travel advice issued by your own government (more info here);
- The travel restrictions and health measures taken by the national authorities of the countries you are planning to visit (there are some dedicated websites).
- The European Commission website dedicated to COVID-19
All non-essential travel to and in Europe is to be avoided.
